That's an interesting problem. From the DX side, I think they would prefer
that you count the QSO and stay out of the way so others can get through.
You're "In The Log".  That said, if it bothers you then go ahead and make
that "insurance QSO". They won't black list you or even ignore you. As in a
contest, it's far better to work a dupe than argue about it.

Where things get liddie is when you make a QSO, then immediately join the
pileup again for another one .. and again .. and again. At T33A I had one
Italian work me three times in about 10 minutes and then tried for a
fourth. I had to call him out publicly .. then he quit. Now that's LID
operating.
