[Mldxcc] [NCCC] Fw: Rotor Stuck - Advice Needed

Looks like a major repair is in order come spring. I have the antennas tied down with ropes so they will stay put. I parked the beam at 45 degrees so it will still be useful for DX :)Jim -WX6V-

My US Tower crankup has several set-screws that secure the mast inside the top tube (below the thrust bearing IIRC) when maintaining the rotor. After the work is done, they must ALL be backed off until they no longer protrude through the inner wall of the tube, where they can contact the mast, and then firmly locked into that position with the lock nuts provided. Failure to do that on one or more of the screws can result in eventual creeping of a screw such that the rotor won't turn or will turn only in one direction or will not turn past some specific heading. The symptoms can change as the screws wobble, the wind changes, and the mast gets scored. It can take years for symptoms to appear. I know. N.B. You can't see all these set screws from any one position on the tower, so feel around with your hands and make sure you have them all secured.
