Isn't that a function of an attorney? Legal sounding obfuscation that
ultimately says nothing? :-P

I've stayed out of the conversation because while I commiserate with
those in an HOA/CC&R infested region (it's happening here too in some
areas) my answer to dealing with an HOA was ultimately the best, for
me. I moved to N ID where the only tower rules are "If over 100', it
must be lit; the lights must face up to not bother the neighbors". And
"Make sure that if it fell, it's no closer than 25' from the property
line". No permits, no inspections... Aaaah.

Moving was the best, simplest answer to fighting the stupid HOA and
general policies and direction of CA. I see no hope of overturning any
HOA regardless of the 'membership' desires or new Federal law (it would
be tested in court, taking decades to settle). The buyers have
capitulated their rights to run their lives and residence.
Unacceptable. When a cranky old buzzard/witch with nothing else in
their life to do, just wants to make you miserable, the HOA empowers
that with them being elected. Total ego tripping. HOAs are becoming
more available, for screwy reasons (maintains property values?
Unproven. Forces you to live in cookie cutter housing, no
individuality). I don't get it.

But getting back on track... HOAs provide little if any benefit over
the course of time. The monthly tax (dues) could just as easily pay a
painter, roofer and gardener. But they're getting harder to avoid.

My only concern is to make sure the tower(s) get raised before those
durn liberals in Boise try to change things (like SoCal outvoting
NoCal). It won't go over well in this part of the state, where the
Second Amendment is gleefully exercised, OFTEN. ;-) I've taken care of
me, I wish the rest of you my sincerest good luck. It's a fight worth
fighting, I'm just not very hopeful.

are politics and self-preservation of the ARRL. That sounds a LOT like
the Senate and Congress critters. They've all forgotten their
constituents.)
