Worked two on 40m CW,  28 on 20m mostly CW. Seemed like the CW ops were prepared,  SSB ops needed coaching on a six digit grid.

Worked from the City Hall/Police Station parking lot lawn. Ground zero in the zone of totality.

I stopped working and turned off the generator 15 minutes prior to the Total Solar Eclipse to be able to absorb the experience.

At the moment the eclipse reached totality,  the entire town began to cheer; gasps of glory from all directions near and far.  It was breathtakingly wonderful.

I spent the afternoon inside city hall relaxing and watching ODOT traffic jams.  Police Chief Tanner Stanfill recommended that I stay until after dinner.

About 5pm I saddled up and headed south on US-97.  I drove seven hours only going 86 mile in the mother of all traffic jams.   About midnight I stopped at Gilchrist, OR and slept a few hours, the drove to Klamath Falls arriving at 5am and slept another three hours. A few more rest stops after that I arrived home in Vacaville at 3:30pm. Whew!

The whole trip and experience was worth the effort.
