[Mldxcc] Update from the Prez

The August 26th NCCC/MLDXCC BBQ at N6JV's was very enjoyable. Mary and 
Norm have done an amazing job in their short time at their QTH. Despite 
the 100 degrees-plus temperature, over 50 attendees enjoyed plenty of 
cold beverages and Dickeys BBQ. Norm's QTH proved an ideal spot, with 
plenty of trees for shade, turtles, and a ham shack that many would be 
hard pressed to beat. He's got an ideal setup with acres of desk space, 
homebrew amplifiers for each band, and a contest kitchen and bath. His 
tube museum is quite the site, located in its own air conditioned room 
with tube-covered shelves an all four walls. I've never seen such a sight!

MLDXCC was able to conduct a short meeting in order to vote in some new 
members. Please welcome Bob Officer N6TCE, Dave Hill N6DCH, Jeffrey 
Giampetro KK6VXB, Paul Croci KC6RRR, and Doug Phillips WE6Z.

Our next MLDXCC Meeting is September 16th. Steve K6SCA is scouting 
locations for that, so watch for the announcement. We will be discussing 
rule changes and our strategy for CQP which is just over one month away.
