A lot has to do whether you are running or S&P.
Your rate will be better if you can get runs going & that 9520 points
will come quicker. One does not have to be too concerned about
tuning as most will call on frequency...a few will have RIT or AFC on
& be off. One can often find clear spots higher in the band...but not
too high. (Watch for other modes.)
If you are S&P & can tune stations easily, one ought to do 40-50/hr.
IMO, make expectations low, but if operations go well & you feel up
to it, keep going.
Good luck...HNY & 73,

Dick

Congrats Rick!

I just got RTTY up and running today with Bob's, W1RH, help and this weekend will be the first contest.  So, tell me how many Q's, Mults and Time did it take to get 9,520 points?  I also like to set a goal, however I have no basis for this weekend and what is possible for a new RTTY operator.

Well, this will get me primed for this weekend!

In the mail today:

2015 RTTY Roundup

        Single Operator Unlimited Low Power
        San Joaquin Valley Section

        First Place
        9,520 Points

Now I am motivated to get the dipole up a bunch more and go for at least 10k this weekend.

Actually, I will set my goal for 20k.

Have fun,

Rick
