I brought up this contest at our March meeting when we were
discussing contests, and I was told that this was one of our focus
contests. Perhaps we need to revisit that, and finalize it. I'm
sure we have MLDXCC members who are not NCCC members, and they
want their points to go somewhere. Personally I like seeing our
club in print. I think it helps drive membership and
      participation.

Based on that discussion in March, and the fact that we have had
entries from MLDXCC in the past, I submitted mine for MLDXCC and
advised others to do the same.

I looked at the last seven years to see where we stood. Prior to
2012 we didn't have any entries for this contest. Then suddenly in
2013 (15/38) and 2014 (13/35) we were in the top 40% of the clubs.
Still way down in point totals, but our club was up there. 2015 we
finished 33/38. So what happened in those three years to go from
nothing to showing well to almost nothing again? I wasn't around
then so wasn't involved in the discussions. Looking back through
those years I also didn't see any REDXA or PL259 entries.

This is one of the contests where we might consider entering
club competition with NCCC.
For instance, in 2015, MLDX/CC was about 33 out of 38 with
600K points. NCCC was second, about 2 Megapoints short of
first. IMO, with some coordination & prodding NCCC 'could'
possibly have won. I didn't see REDXA or PL259 in results.
While it may be good just to see our name in print, it might also
be good to be associated with a winner.
