I'm kicking myself for sending this original email out, because it makes it seem like I'm suggesting bending the rules of the club competition. I don't want there to be any appearance of manipulation, and I apologize if my email suggested that. Every contest we have won has been won fair and square. Whether or not you submit your points for MLDXCC is obviously entirely up to you. I know that many members are also members of NCCC, so if you are also eligible for that club entry you may submit to that as well, or your own local club.

Sweepstakes starts this weekend, Nov 5-7 (CW), Nov 19-21 (PH). We are defending our title in the Medium Category and expect stiff competition. We are allowed a maximum of 50 logs which is a total for both CW and Phone. Last year we had 48 logs submitted, most of those from phone. A few notes on Sweepstakes:

· Listing the club in your Cabrillo file does not preclude you from winning an individual award from the ARRL. You get your points, and the club also gets your points.

· The club listing in your Cabrillo file should be Mother Lode DX/Contest Club.

· Bob Hess W1RH is our log flogger. Check with him with any questions on your log, and please send him your scores!

· We cannot tell you to NOT submit your log for the club so we don’t exceed 50, so please check to see if we have reached 50 logs before submitting yours to the contest HQ. You can check the Logs Received page at ARRL, or Bob should be able to tell you.

· If we have already reached 50, simply remove the club line from your Cabrillo file before submitting it to ARRL HQ. That way you’re still in the running for any personal awards.

· Make sure Dick K6LRN has your accurate grid square for your transmitter location.
