Along with the Southern California Contest Club, DFW Contest Group, Contest Club Ontario, the Mad River Radio Club is very serious about Sweepstakes.  As their website states, Winning the SS Competition remains an annual goal for the club

Mad River has a very nicely written SS Handbook, for those of you unfamiliar with the contest:

NCCC also has a Sweepstakes page, which has a wealth of information:

Last year, we won the gavel (although we have yet to actually see it).  Unlike the CQP Club Competition, which we win year after year, competing in the SS Club Competition is actually good sport, with tough competition.  Winning the gavel last year was a tremendous accomplishment for our club.

The usual clubs competing in the Medium Club Category, which limits a club's entry to 50 logs total over two contests, were blindsided by us last year.  We got away with it once, but don't expect SCCC, DFW, CCO, and MRRC to be blindsided again.  They're all gunning for the win this year.

The participants in last year's win included those listed below:

I'm sending this because I may not be able to put in a serious effort this year, due to complications involving my mother-in-law's house, which is supposed to close at the end of the month.  Last year, I contributed a bit over 300,000 points to our win and the last thing I want to do is to hurt the club.  Unfortunately, I'm the Executor and must do what I have to do.  Hopefully, some of you can work just a bit harder to cover for points I may not be able to contribute this year.
