I've got to agree with Rick.  Not sure why, because the noise level hasn't changed, but I'm hearing much more with the Flex than my MP ever heard.  Not only 160 but made quite the difference on 15 meters also.

Up until last year, I was running an FT1000D with all
the same goodies you have on yours.  Switching to a
Flex 6700 made a huge improvement.  Much greater than
I thought it would.  I can hear many stations that
would have been inaudible on the FT1000D.  My score
this year was the best I've done for many years.
