I did hear them around sunset here on 40 several days ago and
they might have been workable from my tiny station. Of course they
QRTed as soon as I sat down... We tried to find them on Saturday
from N6RO but no copy on 20, 40, or 80. DXworld updates say they
have lots of local noise problems and keep shutting down with
little notice. Also only have one amplifier. 2 days to go.
K3EST wonders why they went to Somalia rather than Somliland.
Same DX prefix but much safer and better in just about every way.

Has anyone worked the 6O?
If so, band and time?

Keep the faith! They're really well-organized I'm sure they've got the electrons in a bag ready to roll.

The Bouvet Island DXpedition – 3YØZ
Press Release # 11
January 13, 2018
Heavy sea ice east and north of King George Island has made navigation
between King George Island and Bouvet slow and of increased risk. We
will, therefore, depart from Punta Arenas and sail directly to Bouvet.
This has necessitated changes to preparations. That process is underway,
and is moving as fast as possible.
Our sailing time to Bouvet is now estimated at 14 days. We estimate that
our sailing date and QRV date will move back 24 to 36 hours. Our QRT
date will be extended, as necessary, to provide everyone with the best
possible chance of working Bouvet.
73,
K4UEE – Bob
