My 1000MP in "VOX" mode also chops off the first dit. So I push the QSK
button, and key-up time is now OK.

I leave the VOX button pushed to keep the rx off during the exchange, to
avoid the clatter. Sometimes I DO use QSK only.

I know the 1000MP has a provision to delay the output untill the xmtr is
fully on, but I have chosen to do it another way.
