Works fine with an Icom CT-17 (they aren't cheap, but they work).

In the IC-746
27 CI-V Baud Rate 9600   Auto doesn't seem to work unless the NA port 
is 1200.
28 CI-V Address    56h
29 CI-V Tranceive   On
30 CI-V 731 Mode   Off

NA 10.53 on my laptop on COM1 works fine.

NA 10.52 on the shack P5-133 set up as below:
