Chris,

I'm copying your note to CVB author WB8VMN (the "Tom" half of DATOM) for 
his opinion.

Here's some of my ideas:

The #1 consideration to keep in mind you have to create a DOS-like 
environment for CVB to run.  Having Win98 drivers doesn't help because CVB 
is not a Windows program.  To make a DOS program run, you generally have to 
set an environment variable: SET BLASTER = ... in order to set the IRQ, 
DMA, etc.  Also, in order to make a PCI card run under DOS you have to run 
Creative Labs Configuration Manager, I think its called CMCM.EXE.  I went 
thru this setting up a PCI SB16 to run K6STI's RITTY, but this was under 
DOS 6.22.

#2, you MUST have CT-VOICE.DRV available, and it must be the version which 
matches your Sound Blaster model.

#3, is Win98 set up with the traditional FAT disk format or is it set up 
with the new NTFS format which allows bigger hard disks?  CVB was not 
designed to work with NTFS - we've not tested it so we don't know that it 
DOESN'T work, but...

We'll see what other comments Tom might have.
