Please see the following notice for the Oceania 2001 DX Contest. The contest is now supported by CT,
Writelog, and TR Log logging packages. Support from SD Logger is pending.

The only package that we are unsure about is NA. John VK4UC has been trying to get hold of Datom
but without success.

Perhaps someone from this reflector can help us to confirm if NA supports the current Oceania DX
Contest rules (see below)?

Note that the contest is in the first two weekends of October so any changes will have to be
developed and tested urgently.

Thanks and 73

THE 2001 OCEANIA DX CONTEST

The Oceania DX contest has been around since 1935 and was known previously as the VK/ZL/Oceania
Contest. Activity has declined in recent years but a new lease of life for this event is coming from
a joint Australian and New Zealand management committee established earlier this year.

No dramatic changes are planned for 2001 although the start and finish times are now 2 hours earlier
for the convenience of operators in the eastern parts of Oceania.

The final 2001 rules are available from the Oceania DX Contest Web site at
www.nzart.org.nz/nzart/update/contests/oceania/. You can also find the latest gossip on the contest
by joining the discussion group at OceaniaDXTest@yahoogroups.com.

The 2001 contest will be held on the following dates:-

PHONE Contest: 0800 UTC Saturday 6 October to 0800 UTC Sunday 7 October
CW Contest: 0800 UTC Saturday 13 October to 0800 UTC Sunday 14 October

Special Notes for 2001
* The start time has been brought forward to 0800 UTC (2001 rule change)
* Multi-Operator Single-Transmitter category added and Multi-Operator Single Band category deleted
(2001 rule change)
* Contacts between stations in the same Oceania country are permitted (2000 rule change)
* The 160 m band is included (2000 rule change)
* Electronic logs are encouraged - preferably in the CABRILLO format (2001 rule change) although
other formats are acceptable - see detailed rules.
* Further information on the contest is available from the Oceania DX Contest web site

The committee is working hard to rejuvenate this contest. Any assistance to publicise the contest
and encourage more participation in 2001 will be greatly appreciated. Remember that this contest is
a great opportunity to warm up for CQ WW!

We look forward to working you in the contest.
