Quick Start Guide
NA Quick Start
Select the correct band and mode:
Change Band -- Down: Alt-F1, Up: Alt-F2
Change Mode -- Down: Ctrl-F1, Up: Ctrl-F2
Notify other network stations of your operating frequency by entering your
frequency in the CALL field and press enter. Be sure to do this anytime
that you change bands or modes. Do not use a decimal point in the
frequency. (Example: 14.225 Mhz would be entered as 14225)
Only one transmitter may operate on a given band and mode at a time. Press
ALT-F to view the frequencies of other stations on the network. Your
station number is marked on the computer.
To Log a QSO:
1. Enter the callsign of the station being worked in the CALL field.
2. Press F9 to check for dupes
· If not a dupe, goto step 3.
· If dupe, the computer will beep and flash a message at the bottom
of the screen. Politely end the QSO. Press F11 to clear the line and
return to the CALL field.
3. Press the space bar to move the cursor to the CAT field. Enter the
category.
4. Press the space bar to move the cursor to the SECT field. Enter the
ARRL section. ALT-L will display a list of sections on the screen. Each
column represents a call district, beginning with district 1 in the left
column.
5. Press enter to log the QSO. Return to step 1.
