2 quick questions to the most knowledgeable group of radio amateurs ever
assembled !!
Any one using the 40-2cd without the boom trusses?? I homebrewed one using
the plans and the QHS mods and it looks as though
I can get away without using one but just checking.
I recently moved and with the move came a new tower now at 50'. The A3 with
30m kit is at 60' and the 40-2 is at 51. I didn't have
the 40 up for the PA QSo test so used a Butternut vertical which caused
interference to my neighbors RCA DSS system. The neighbors on cable and
broadcast tv are fine ( as are the 2 sets on cable in my house). I thought
things would get better once the beam was up
but they didn't. The house next door and the one 2 doors down the other way
have flashing screens when I transmit on 40m. TX on
other bands cause no trouble. Their screens go bright then dark in time to
the cw or voice peaks. Both houses also have cable and when
the set is on cable their is no interference. I am not sure if I am getting
into the if of the satellite receiver or not. Tonight my neighbor
showed me how when I transmit the signal quality bar indicate a drop in
signal strength.. Any quick solutions before Friday??
