schedules with
Tom Lee :-)

In case you missed it, here is what happened at the meeting. Thanks John,
K8LN
for recording the minutes.

Tom, K8AZ reported W8KIC, Val could not make the meeting because of health.
He will be going in for heart surgery Monday the 8th.

Two envelopes were passed, 1 for the $400 needed to reimburse Tim, K3LR for
club sponsored plaques. Second enevlope for 2001 NCC dues, money to be used
for 2001 plaques and a possible club banner for Dayton contest suite.
$260.00 in 2001 dues collected
$60.00 in 2000 plaque funds collected. money will be sent to Tim.

Club recognized the need for a Sec/Treasure and John, K8LN was elected.

Scott recommended we elect K3LR as Plaque Chairman. Passed

Exchanged ideas on the ongoing relationship between Mad River and the North
Coast Contesters. MRRC leans toward domestic contests, the NCC members are
more DX type contesters. We agreed as a group to support MRRC in the up
coming NAQP contest. K8DX will speak KU8E about NAQP teams and to K8CC about
future club interactions.

A motion was made by Tom, K8AZ
1. NCC to support MRRC in domestic type contests and take a wait and see how
these joint efforts unfold. Maybe later MRRC would submit scores under NCC
in DX contests, this was a thought, but not a necessity.
2. Remove SS as a requirement for membership.
3. Members must operate and submit scores for 2 of 6 listed contests. A
change from 3 of 8.
4. Tom will amend By-Laws, point 2 and 3
All voted in favor of changes.

Eight new members were voted on and passed. All welcomed.
New members are
W8KEN KEN KONTOR
WB8K DENNY JAKUBISIN
K8AL AL DAY
W8VE ROGER GRAY
N8PW BILL KAISER
W3IQ BUD HOUSEHOLDER
W8BIN RAY BROWN
N3SD GREG GHOJDILA

W3IQ and N3SD were not in attendance. The other new members gave a brief
description of their station and operating habits.

Discussion on the Dayton Contest suite. All agreed that the NCC needs to be
better represented. A club banner for the suite will be considered.

K8DX pointed out the CQWW Single operator Zone 4 plaque has no sponsor. We
agreed to take a wait and see attitude, we need to get over the hurdle of
raising $400.00 for the 2000 plaque fund and 2001 dues first. Tabled for
now

K8AZ shared a letter from N9RV on the future of NCC.

The NCC web site was discussed. Scott to speak to K3GP and KU8E.

Meeting dates were kicked around. Membership requires 2 meeting a year. Six
were looked at.
Scott, K8DX will try to make it as easy as possible for all to be able to
make meeting requirements.
1. Jan, K8AZ party
2. March, 3 week? Need to talk to the members in the east on best date and
time. Austintown would be the location.
3. Canton meeting date determined later.
4. Dayton hamvention
5. July 28. W8AV summer party. Joint clubs, Mad River and NCC, Scott to
speak to Goose.
6. Oct 14. Austintown

Charter member Tom, K8AZ ended the meeting with a short history of NCC for
the new members.

**********************************************************************

At K8MR's I spoke with Goose, and everything is set for a joint MRRC/NCC
meeting
at his home on July 28th. Jeff, KU8E has also offered to help build us a
webpage,
and I'll be sending him some ideas later this week. Both K8CC, and KU8E
spoke
with me before our meeting about the possibility of NCC and MRCC merging.
When
I spoke with them of our willingness to submit our domestic scores under Mad
River,
K8CC said they would be willing to submit their DX scores under NCC. Under
this
plan, each club gets to keep its identity, and as K8NZ mentioned, this will
be very
important when its time to pick a WRTC op. I'll be speaking with the
powers-to-be
at MR about joint membership and will let you know what I find out.

If you haven't already done so, please forward your dues / plaque fund to
K8LN.
There are still MANY of you that we haven't heard from.

Don't forget about NAQP SSB this weekend. It was my first time of doing the
CW
version and it was GREAT! KU8E is looking for more NCC members.
