Hi guys,
The 80M 4SQ is finally up. It took a lot longer to build than I had =
planned.
There are about 60,000' of radials, which took forever to lay. I ran =
into=20
quite a few spools of wire that had cardboard cores that had rotted, and
was impossible to un-roll. I ended up trashing about 20,000'+ due to =
this.
I tuned the verticals for 3.550Mhz and now with all four hooked up, the
dump power at 3.8Mhz is 12W and 12W at 3.5Mhz with 100W applied.
Almost no difference is detectable when going through the 4 sectors as=20
far as dump power is concerned. =20
Sunday night I was on for EU sunrise and worked about 20 guys, but
conditions seem to be really down so it's hard to tell how well its =
really
working. It does seem to have a considerable amount of F/B and F/S,
so I'm waiting for some good propagation to get a feel if it was worth =
all
the work :-)
