Started out great Friday night...3W and DU called among others...when band
died about 0230 I felt I had a great start....little did I know I would wake
up with the flu!! Finally dragged my butt out of bed and had some great runs
including having FR5FD calling in. Missed an hour to take a nap and had a
fairly good afternoon but my aching body needed a break so I laid down about
4:00 with strict instructions to my wife to not let me sleep more than an
hour. Well, bless her soul, she let me sleep until 8:00!! She said I looked
so tired and thought I needed some rest...I tried to explain I needed to be
beaming toward JA but she just doesn't get it. Did work quite a few JA
between 0100 and 0200 but could only dream about what I missed. Had some
good runs Sunday but had too mcuh ground to make up. Stayed in the chair
almost all day trying to reach 1000q but I guess it wasn't meant to be. I
think this is the first contest I didn't work KP4?!?!? Very few Africans but
was called Sunday afternoon by TN3IFB. The fist was kinda sloppy, maybe a
bug, but I'm sure thats what I copied? Is he for real?? Anybody else work
him? Well, try again in a few weeks to break 1000q single band.
