Greetings to all! This is the 1st contest where I used my Elecraft K2
running 5 watts. I was pleased with its performance.
Also this is the first contest where I operated with 72 foot tower I was on
Friday evening but all the big guns were working each other so I only made
20 QSOs. I had other activities Sat including my XYL going to Riverdance
performance at U of Akron Saturday night. I did manage to work a few qso's
on 40 meters after I returned home. I stayed up until 2 AM on 40 and 80.
Worked 47 contacts and 29 countries on 40.
10 meters had excellent condx for at this time of the sunspot cycle. I had
my highest qso total on that band at 124 contacts and 56 countries. Sunday
evening the far east opened up and I began working the Japanese after the
sun went down. I jumped to 15 meters but my qso rate was not as good as 10
meters. These were more folks on 15 working the Japanese and with 5 watts I
have to wait in line.
Anyway, I worked 91 countries and 375 qsos l) for the weekend with abt 14
hours of operating time. I worked a few new countries on qrp so it was well
worth the effort.
SO QRP Point Total- 268,047 points
80mtrs 6 qsos 2 countries
40mtrs 47 qsos 29 countries
20 mtrs 88 qsos 47 countries
15 mtrs 110 qso 56 countries
10 mtrs 124 qsos 56 countries
