[NCC] need advice + score

Sat around 1:30pm my TS-940 died. After my granddaughters 4pm birthday party
I started using the ic-706 and then tail twister quit. That was enough CQWW
fun for me. Was able to make 567 Q's for a raw score of 469,000 points for
NCC.

The last time the 940 was repaired I was told the next time "money would be
better spent on a new one". I see that  the FT-1000mpmk Field at $1729 with
free shipping. Is there any thing up at Yaesu that they ,HRO and AES  would
lower the price over $900 in one month?

Also is the MP still the one to buy? I am seeing a lot of Icom Pro II being
used.
