Comments:
A super job by all of our USA multi multi teams! Special congrats to
KC1XX,
W3LPL and K9NS on very fine jobs! You know it is VERY tough to catch
these guys,
but it looks like the hard work by the super team of K3LR contest men
paid off.
Our only multi multi ARRL Phone DX contest win was 6 years ago and this
year the
contest went every bit as good.
My hearty thanks to the team of talented operators who continue to
beleive in
the dream of doing well from Western Pennsylvania.
160 Meters - John "I like CW much better", N2NC gave the new beverage
system and
phasing box a real work out. It's all about keeping your butt in the
chair when
there is almost nothing to work and John stayed with it both nights. To
stay
sharp and stay awake John had more "Red Bulls" than any other team
member!
80 Meters - Tim, K3LR and Phil, K3UA plugged along. Phil did double duty
with 15
meters and was 2nd place in the Red Bull drinking contest. Neat morning
QSOs
with P29 and YB0 as well as a few JAs.
40 Meters - Rookie K3LR 40 meter team, and they set the QSO and
multiplier bar
VERY high for future contests. A tremendous job by Dave, KM3T and Mark,
KI7WX. A
super first hour of 117 set the stage for 939 QSOs and a fantastic 114
multipliers! Way to go!
20 Meters - Andy, N2NT and George, K5TR did everything right on 20.
These two
guys are the BEST at what they do. Run them fast and get the calls
right.
Amazing job by two radio contesting super stars.
15 Meters - Phil, K3UA and Scotty, N3RA showed amazing big hour rates on
Saturday of 216 & 254 followed by 195. This has always been the K3LR 15
meter
"Dream Team" and with the perfect 21 MHz conditions, these guys took it
to the
limit. Outstanding!
10 Meters - Fred, K9VV worked very hard to find whatever he could to
scrape
together a fine 227 QSO effort. The glory days of 10 meters might be
asleep for
a few years, but Fred still flew in from his new QTH in Florida and made
it
happen.
We are looking forward to CQWW in this fall!
See you in Dayton!
Very 73 from the K3LR Multi Multi team!
