Am deeply saddened to hear of Val's passing. Was very fortunate to be able  
to visit with him just before CQWW CW. The sense of humor and sharp mind was  
still there.
 
Val was truly one of a kind. He will be missed by all of  us ..contesting 
lost one of it's best.
