 CQ 160-Meter Contest, CW

Call: K8MR

Station: K8MR

Class: Single Op HP
QTH: Ohio
Operating Time (hrs): 5

Summary:
Total: QSOs = 515 State/Prov = 52 Countries = 24 Total Score = 105,460

Club: Mad River Radio Club

Comments:

I was planning to operate Friday night with my own call, but when I finished
up
Saturday morning with 85K, I decided to spend the extra hour or so to make it
to 100K, which I don't think I had ever done before in a 160 test.

Can I claim the PJ2 multiplier? Had dinner Saturday night with
W0CG/PJ2DX/PJ2T
and W8WTS, who had planned to be at PJ2T this weekend (with K8ND) until a
major
work project intervened.

Call: W3USA
Operator(s): K8MR
Station: K8MR

Class: Single Op HP
QTH: Ohio
Operating Time (hrs): 3

Summary:
Total: QSOs = 352 State/Prov = 47 Countries = 4 Total Score = 41,004

Club: Mad River Radio Club

Comments:

This was my day two operation, Saturday night and early Sunday. Either
conditions were down from Friday night, or a light snow had created a lot of
power line noise that was not there the first night. Or both.

A combination of fresh meat status and a packet spot make for a good
imitation
of being rare DX. At one point I had the 10 qso timer over 300/hr.

CQ 160-Meter Contest, CW

Call: W8FD
Operator(s): K8MR
Station: K8MR

Class: Single Op HP
QTH: Ohio
Operating Time (hrs): 0:20

Summary:
Total: QSOs = 65 State/Prov = 21 Countries = 0 Total Score = 2,919

Club: Mad River Radio Club

Comments:

A quick appearance Sunday afternoon to make some qsos available to those who
had
survived the first 46 hours.

As I said in my W3USA comments, the combination of being new and a being
spotted sure can generate a nice high rate experience. Thanks to CQ for not
sharing ARRL's phobia about using more than one callsign during the contest.
I
trust none of the people I worked 2 or 3 times minded either.

Again, some light snow led to a lot of power line noise, so after working the
big guns I did feel like an alligator when the weaker stations were trying to
call in.
