Everyone,

Thanks for all the great responses, I'm actually surprised to have received so
much feedback.

I've read every email, and I really appreciate you taking the time to give me
your thoughts. It seriously means a lot to me.

In the end, I've decided that I will be using MY call, K0DXC, in IARU this
weekend. Yes, I would do better with K1LZ, but the only thing actually on the
line this weekend is my ego, so I may as well have some fun and get myself out
there!

A few of you pointed out that I should use K1LZ because since it's so
recognized, people won't try to take it's frequency - but DXC being
non-recognized would be susceptible to a battle.. That was the best "pro-LZ"
reason besides the plain and simple fact that K1LZ is 1,000 times more
recognized! But I'm not worried about it. I'll still be loud as heck, and I will
have no problem decking punishment unto whoever picks a fight with me.

Well, it's time for me to get ready to leave for Boston, I'm in Minnesota right
now. Hope to work you guys this weekend! GL to everyone!

73,
Cal, K0DXC

Ok..

First off, this is actually pretty stupid. I mean, yeah, I need LOTS of help...
But I'm going to ask for insight on an Amateur Radio subject this time.

This weekend in the IARU I will be SOAB HP at K1LZ in Boston... Krassy has
opened up his station to me, but this is my first single op from his place.

He's given me the option of using my own call, K0DXC, if I want to. Or I can
use K1LZ.

This being said... Which call should I use??? I'm completely lost, and I can't
decide. K0DXC is long as crap, and K1LZ is a short, good, recognized call. Call
recognition is HUGE, and I just don't have it with K0DXC. All logical
explanations (that I've come up with) point to using K1LZ. But, with K0DXC... I
could actually operate seriously in a contest using my OWN call! I've never
actually done that before! I've never been "LOUD" as K0DXC...

Any thoughts? Once again, sorry for the waste of space.

GL to all, and I bet even a few at WRTC in Moscow will read this! I hope to
work you guys, whatever call I may use.

(K0DXC/1 tomorrow)

Oh yeah, and I plan on being CW only this weekend. Yeah, I do have a ton of fun
with SSB... But I have reasons for sticking with the Morse side of things this
weekend.
