Thanks for working with Kevin. He had a great time. I was out of town with my youngest doing scout stuff until about 8pm Saturday, so I appreciate you helping him out.
Kevin got his license in Mid May and this was obviously his first field day. He already is looking forward to next year and wants to take our camper and spend the whole weekend. A good start!
We managed to get our tri-band VHF quad re-built and Kevin made his first actual Q with his call (KD8NZG) on 6m when he worked N2NC.
I am looking forward to getting HF antennas up soon and getting back at it. I hope to be do the CQ VHF contest in July with Kevin.
Thanks again Ray and look forward to seeing all of you at a local Hamfest or on the air again (finally) soon.

Had a great time at Mahoning Valley's Field Day site in New Springfield,
Ohio.
40 Phone was in good shape Saturday afternoon...the old 'MP came out
of mothballs and played very well.
Glen Clark built a great 40 meter dipole...he might just have a future in
this
antenna business.
The highlight of my day was logging for N3RA's newly licensed 13 year old
son Kevin as
he searched and pounced on 40 sideband. The first couple of Q's were a
little hesitant...
but after that he was knocking them out like his Old Man.
That contesting DNA came through 59+.
Watch out Scott...you might have some serious competition.

Ray
