Somewhat pleased with new tower and Skyhawk beam, but do miss having the two
stacked A3S beams that the new tower and Skyhawk replaced. Was also
without a 80 meter dipole, but did have a less than efficient 40 meter
dipole that just needs to be higher up the tower and perhaps in a V rather
than a flatop...although a 40 meter beam or rotatable dipole may be in the
near future. All in all, and with the limited hours worked saturday and
sunday afternoon, was somewhat happy with results. Had some issues with my
CT contest program that shut me down for several hours and I do believe its
time to move on to another contest program. MFJ voice keyer crapped out on
me, which I expected it to do sooner or later, and xyl forgot to bake me my
contest chocolate chip cookies. K3lr, K8az, and several others in the
area were heard very well here in Howland.
Good luck to all NCC..
