Nice to work lots of MRRC and NCC members. Thanks to K8MR for a six-bander
and thanks to K8MM for the QSY to 15 and 10 an unsuccessful attempt to get
the MI mult on those bands. Not a peep heard, unfortunately. Hank's five
watts sounded real loud when I worked him. K8BL seemed to have good pileups
going every time I heard him on 15 and 20. Only managed to work Bob on 80.
My Q total is exactly the same as last August but I had about 80 more high
band contacts and the same fewer low band contacts. 80 yielded 210 contacts
last year vs only 147 this year thanks to the QRN.
I have broken 800 contacts once or twice in an NAQP but I think this is my
best score ever due to 45 (!) more mults than last year. I worked every W1
section but CT on 15 and several on 10. Picked up NL, NS, NB and PEI on 20
(I don't think that has ever happened before) but not much activity from the
rest of Canada: only worked one or two VE2s the entire contest, no VE5 or
VE6 and only one or two VE7s.
I missed N8SS this year. This is one of Earl's favorite contests. Has
anyone
heard anything about his condition?
Now to start preparing for the Ohio QSO Party!

Comments:
Did great during the first half but the QRN kept the rates lower than usual
for
the low bands. Decent mults on 10 and 15 compared with recent years but a
lot
of folks apparently did not realize that the bands were open because
activity
was poor.
Great contest!
