Greetings NCC!
Just a reminder: this weekend is the second half of NCC's big push for
medium club honors. The ARRL DX SSB contest is always a fun one and with
the solar flux again above 100, it looks like 15m and maybe even 10m will be
open and will provide extra fun.
As always K3LR will be on for a multi-multi effort with an all-star crew.
K8AZ will also be on as a multi-op, but although not planning to be serious
enough to be competitive on a national basis. N8TR will probably be on with
his s/o/a effort that usually "makes the box", but I haven't heard whether
Pete will be able to be full time.
But the real strength of the NCC effort is always the multitude of smaller
scores posted by our "radio active" members. If you can't be on seriously,
how about setting yourself a goal of 250 or 500 QSOs? Maybe post 100 band
countries? How about 50 countries on at least 3 bands? Rest assured, once
you start out, it will be addictive, and before you know it, a 500 Q goal
can turn into 1000 Qs. And these scores DO mount up.
So PLEASE -- try to get on, even if only for a small effort. And remember,
NCC was founded on the key principal that contesting is FUN -- and that we
all need to stay on and be active in contests if we want to be considered
REAL contesters!
73 & CU in the pileups!
Tom, K8AZ
