Hello Jeff - congrats on the FB score!
The 3V8SS log is first in the list here:
http://www.cqww.com/cq-ww-cw-2011.htm
Copy and paste it into WordPad or take it into SH5 for dissecting.
I dig into every lost QSO (in the K3LR log) to see what might have happened.
It is so good to have ALL of the CQWW logs open for review

Bragging is warranted!
Here are some additional data points.
W2FU did SSB as M/S (we don't normally do M/S, and we don't normally do SSB
as few of our ops really have much phone experience). Although we did win
one a few years ago....This year we had a 7.4% UBN with some 10 minute
violations in the mix....not great and not as good as AZ.
In CW, where we had 26M and had nearly our full normal CW crew, we were down
at 5.6%. Pretty good, but not as good as AZ. Course, also with MM, there
is no 10 minute violations. We have been driving this number down every
year. The biggest hit for us is always NIL. We always seem to lose lots of
mults this way. Lost 3v8ss on two bands this year for NIL!!!!! It baffles
me how this happens so frequently.
Maybe we're not alone? Maybe 3v8SS just didn't get everyone in the log?
Jeff

A point of interest (and bragging):
The AZ score reduction was 4.4%. This compared with 8.6% at winner K5GO,
and 10.9% at W2RE.
The lost zone/country numbers were 3/10 at GO, 0/8 at AZ, and 1/16 at RE.
It does pay to be careful!
Tom, might you forward me the UBN password?

There was an error in the CQWW CW text article. K8AZ finished #2 USA in
the
magazine results (pre bug discovery) and K8AZ finished #2 USA in the
updated
final results (post bug fix) as corrected on the web - results.
The updated final UBN reports show K8AZ as #2 USA.
You can see the updated CQWW CW results here - but the text is still
incorrect talking about K8AZ as #3. Look for an errata correction in a
future CQ magazine issue.
