Good morning and let the whipping commence...
Thanks (I think) to K8AZ for asking me to be the North Coast
Contesters RTTY Whip again for 2012.
I'll be in your collective faces for all of the major RTTY contests this
year,
including (ahem, pay attention here, W8CAR) team formation and score
reporting.
Hopefully some of you had the opportunity to get on for the ARRL RTTY
Roundup this weekend. WW3S did an SO2R effort at VP9GE's place
and did extremely well.
Just so you can pencil in some upcoming activity...here are some of the more
important RTTY contests coming up in 2012:
2/11-2/12 CQ-WW-WPX RTTY 0000Z-2400Z...full 48 hour contest
2/25-2/26 North American QSO Party RTTY 1800Z-0600Z
03/11 NA Sprint RTTY 0000Z-0400Z
07/21-07/22 North American QSO Party RTTY 1800Z-0600Z
09/29-09/30 CQ WW RTTY 0000Z-2400Z...full 48 hours.
(A shameless plug...make sure you get on and at the very least,
work VP9I on all bands.)
10/20 NA Sprint RTTY 0000Z-0400Z
If you don't know how to get started...you have some very active RTTY guys
in the group...WT8C, WW3S and ND8L among others...so ask.
The N1MM/MMTTY software combination is very powerful...so if you haven't
looked into that option...do it. Win-Test also supports some major RTTY
contests,
using the MMTTY engine, so that also is an excellent option,
RTTY is a great form of RadioSport...so get on and give it a try.
If you don't know where to start...try AA5AU's excellent web site:
WWW.AA5AU.COM <http://RTTYCONTESTING.COM> and look for the RTTY Contesting
link
There is also good information at N1MM.COM.
Or drop me a note.
Hope to ramp up NCC's RTTY presence this year. Diddle on, Warriors!
73,
Ray
ND8L
