Well, I'll have to go check the amount again. I had tested all b4 the
contest and it was fine then. I did have two radios setup, but it took more
than all of my attention to deal with one. Maybe I can get some RTTY
pointers here..
We use all K3, N1MM+MMTTY..
The boys used all AFSK here for the NAQP RTTY a couple weeks ago, all worked
fine except one radio on 20 had abt a two KHz offset between displayed freq
and actual TX. We knew that whatever radio we used in that position, it was
the same. The way I fixed this after the contest was to do an INI reset on
N1MM. I never did find out what was wrong, played with it for hours!
This time, I setup two K3 with one soundcard. I had both radios RX on left
and right channel, worked great, BUT I couldn't get the stereo split to work
on TX, so I used FSK on one radio, AFSK on the other. B4 the contest, both
radios talked to each other on-freq, and a friend confirmed they were both
on the same freq. BUT once I started, I got no answers on the FSK radio, or
hard to get answers etc. Then I figured it out "mostly" after I switched to
40 meters and started using the other radio. Once I started using the RIT,
I was OK, but I never did get the offset to go away. This morning, I tested
it against the other radio, and it was offset by half the spacing. I shut
down and restarted N1MM/MMTTY, Cleared the MODE on the K3, and set it back
to FSK.... and it "cured" the offset......go figure.
I was careful about NET and AFC, Kept them off for all my checking etc.

120 hz isnt much....I suspect you mean 1.2 khz, which is the offset...you
must be using AFSK? There is an offset that needs set, or turned off,
depending on what radio, and whether you are using FSK or AFSK.....great
score in any case under poor conditions....

This was my first ever sprint, and first ever RTTY other than watching real
RTTY ops... Kinda fun little event. Very slow start while I tried to
figure out why I wasn't getting any answers..I needed -.120 hz of RIT for
some reason and never figured out why. Then N1MM kept trying to shut the
RIT off for me, just trying to be helpful I guess.
Q M Score
115 36 4140
