Hi Everybody,

Thanks to a great response from the membership of our two clubs, we will be able to field at least four and possibly five teams in this weekend's NAQP CW. Much credit goes to NW2K for his support and assistance in this effort.

So far, we have 11 ops planning full-time efforts and another 11 part time ops. There is plenty of room for more.

I have tentatively put together the following teams of full-timers.

MRRC/NCC Super Team

N8AA
N8SS
K8FC
K2TJ
W8CAR

MRRC/NCC Great Team

NW2K
NA8V
N8EA
K8BL
W1NN

I couldn't think of any easy and sensible way to rank these ops into a First Team and a Second Team this time, so the team assignments are more or less random and the team names were chosen to avoid any suggestion of hierarchy. But there definitely will be a hierarchy for the January NAQP, with the five highest scorers this time (regardless of team) earning a spot on the MRRC/NCC First Team, the next five on the MRRC/NCC Second Team (provisional names), etc.

K8GT is also expecting to operate full time. There are sill lots of great CW ops out there we have not heard from, so if you want to participate in this historic intra/inter-club competition, speak up and I will put together one or two more teams. In the meantime, Gerry is with the part-timers since he was the last guy to respond. But to repeat, it doesn't matter what team you are on. After the results are out, we'll make a list of everyone's scores and this list will determine team placement for the January NAQP.

MRRC/NCC Part-timers A

K8GT
AF8A
N8XX
N2CU
AA8IA

MRRC/NCC Part-timers B

W8WTS
K8NZ
WB8JUI
W8TM
KK8D

MRRC/NCC Part-timers C

K9NW
K8MR/2?
Others?

If I have missed someone, or if your plans have changed, let me know. I will not register our teams until Saturday around noon.

Suggestions for better team names are welcome.

Note that the contest begins at 2 PM local and runs for 12 hours. You have to take two hours off in 30 minute minimums. If you are part time, the best time to get on would be later on when you can work your fellow club members on 80 and 160.

Thanks!

73, Hal W1NN
