Jamie,
IMHO, I'd merely replace one of your 40M verticals with the HyT. That wouldn't disrupt the nice
phasing situation you have now for 40 and it will give you the added capability for 80M. The remaining
40 vert is probably too close to affect the 80 operation.
If you put up the HyT by itself somewhere else on your Lot, I feel it would need to be at least 67' away from
your phased 40's to avoid messing up your patterns.
These are unscientific opinions only.

Subject: [NCC] ideas for Hygain Hytower 18-HT
Tonight I got a Hytower from a local SK estate. My son and I and a few other locals took it down, disassembled and it’s now in my driveway, really want to use this on 80m, but looking for suggestions, my lot is 80x180, and my other tower and phased 40m verticals take up most of the rear yard, and the front is out of the question. So do I:
find a spot off to the side and use it mainly on 80m ? How far is far enough away from the current 40m verticals?
replace one of the current 40m verticals (Butternut HF-6) and use the Hytower as part of the array on 40, and via switching, as a 80m antenna ? Currently the 40m array ( 2 verticals Christman fed) plays real well with my 100w so I’m somewhat hesitant to screw that up.....
Is 160 a viable option for the Hytower? Currently have a inv-l for 160 but can remove it
if the Hytower can be used on 160 with a coil added......
I don’t need the option for other bands on this Hytower, pretty much 80 and 40 and/or 160, I understand there is some sort of mod (lengthening the stinger, Tim?)
looking for any suggestions about how best to utilize this, understanding that the main goal is to increase my sig on 80m (current ant is an inv V off the 50 ft tower....)
