Thanks to all for the kind words and encouragement on my selection to
represent NA8 in next year's WRTC.

I'm delighted to have another NA8 resident and MRRC member joining me in
New England next summer: Mike Tessmer, K9NW.

Mike is not only a damn good operator, but also has lots of experience
operating from DX locations around the world, often in challenging situations
requiring adaptation to local circumstances. And he has lots of experience
operating from his very modest (dipole at 25 feet or such) station at his
home near Cincinnati.

WRTC will likely be a case of operating from hot tents, and to get some
practice doing that, Mike is leaving next Wednesday for two weeks of operating
from hot tents with the K9W DXpedition to Wake Island. Though I'm sure I
have KH9 already confirmed on various modes and bands, I'll be on to give
the folks out there a few more QSOs.

We'll both be looking forward to working lots of you in WRTC, and/or seeing
you up in MA for the fun in July.

73 - Jim

p.s. Not a major factor in picking Mike, but I suspect he will be far
better than me in keeping up with the Russians operating W1/V0DKA outside the
contest :-)
