it was the best of times, it was the worst of times......

the good news is, we (George/K3GP, Ray/ND8L and myself Jamie/WW3S) broke the current world record !!!! The bad news is so did P40HF and ES9C......looks like we are #3 World, #1 NA claimed score:

new North American record

funky band conditions, at times it seemed like it was open everywhere, and at times it was almost completely shutdown......VP9, being North America, only gets 2 point for NA qsos......we averaged 2.5/q, while P40 got 2.9.......but hey, I don’t think we left anything on the table, other than a mult here and there we missed, we got everything we could and then some......George owned 20m towards the end, with a endless pileup and Ray was rockin and rollin on 40m with EU and NA just pounding in all at the same time.....thanks to all for the qsos, I don’t want to steal Georges thunder on the DXE rx antenna, but that saved our bacon more than once, I can say early Sunday morning, while on 80m, I could barely hear a station calling with absolutely no chance of printing, so switched to the radio with the RX antenna, and there, with solid print was VE6JY !!!!! We ended up rebuilding Ed’s (VP9GE) A4S with a brand new boom, and not a moment to soon, as it was cracked and split in several places......I can say that he now has the finest boom on the island !!!! Thanks to Ray (aka Pink Panther) and Geo (aka Sunshine) for putting up with me, cant wait to do it again !!!!!!

73, Jamie VP9/WW3S
