 Hal,
At this point still can't commit to a full effort. Still hopeful.

But will be on significantly even if not (at least 5 hours).

Greetings,

So far I have 23 ops planning to operate full or part time. See below.
Again, if I have you in the wrong category or missed you completely, let
me know. We still need another 5-10 ops to equal previous participation
levels. Please respond by late Friday night. I will register the teams
and post the list of teams here.

If KW8N will be on full time (how about it , Bob?), it looks like we
have 13 full timers, so we need at least two more to fill out our third
FT team. If Bob can't make it, we will need three more. If no others
show up, I will move some PT ops to the third team.

The ncjweb.com website contains past results, records and lots of good
information. Take a look. It's very well done. Here is a list of
record holders from our part of the country:

January NAQP CW Records

OH N8AA 209,898 2013
MI W8MJ 236,410 2003
NY K2TJ 281,637 2012
PA AA3B 358,308 2013
IN N9RV 367,812 2003

August NAQP CW Records

OH W1NN 170,649 2014
MI NA8V 160,993 2012
NY K2TJ 196,418 2011
PA AA3B 282,741 2014
IN W9RE 258,279 2014

Note that six out of the above 10 records are held by members of either
NCC or MRRC (and one by a former member). In addition, several of our
members (NO3M, K8MR, etc.) are just a hair behind the leaders.
Unfortunately for our team efforts, K2TJ, N2ZN, NW2K and W2GN will be
operating at the W2FU M/M, so some of our best ops will not be
available. But W2FU holds the record in this event and we want to see
them continue occupying this position. They should be pretty easy to
work on six bands.

Last January, we fielded six teams and our best team placed 18th out of
90 teams. Unfortunately, a couple those team members were not able to
operate full time. This year we should be able to put together at least
two teams with full-time ops, so we should be able to do much better.
As you can see from the above data, January scores are a lot higher, but
conditions seem to favor the West Coast and in this part of the country
we do not do as well relatively as we do in the August NAQP.

As to strategy, the following breakdowns from the winning W2FU team
provides a good hint as to band strategy:

160 255/49
80 537/60
40 483/65
20 406/62
15 352/60
10 195/46

The W2FU team ended up with 2,228 contacts! Half a dozen single ops
were over 1400 contacts, but they were mostly on the west coast.
