I was hoping to work K8MR at his temp QTH on Cape Cod, but no luck. The furthest east I could work was W3SO in WPA. Toward the end, I changed my goal to achieving double-digit Q total, but alas I failed at this too. CQ Worldwide VHF Contest

Comments:
I'm not much of a VHF op and I have no antennas for either six or two, but I was
around this weekend so I tuned up the 40 meter dipole with my K3 to see what I
could do. The answer: not much. I should have been able to work a dozen or
two locals but I only heard three or four.
My last QSO was with EA8DBM. I could hear him working a bunch of US and Canada
stations. Previously I was thrilled to work some DX station only to be told
later that he was operating via remote and not signing his call properly. I
hope that was not the case this time.
