Hi Tim,

I posted the following to the NCC and MRRC reflectors yesterday morning
under the title "NAQP CW One Week from Today." You must have missed it.

Greetings Warriors,

The NAQP CW contest will be held exactly one week from today on August
1. The contest runs from 1800Z Saturday through 0600Z Sunday (2 PM to
2 AM EDST). This is a fun, high rate event where you work everyone on
each band and mults (50 states, 13 Canadian provinces/territories and NA
countries) count again on each band. The exchange is name and state so
CW speeds tend to be pretty high, especially later in the day when your
logging program spits out the exchange info after you enter the call.
Participants are limited to operating 10 of the 12 hours, so you can
have a nice dinner with the family or mow the lawn.

For the last couple of years, NCC and MRRC have put together teams to
compete in the team competition. Teams consist of five members and
there are usually around 70 or 80 teams competing. In the August 2013
event, two of our five teams made it into the top ten (fifth and
tenth). We also fielded five teams in 2014 but our two best teams came
in 12th and 13th due to the fact that some ops could not put in full
efforts. Still a solid performance. As you know, the NAQPs are held
twice a year, in January and August. West Coast and Texas stations
generally have the advantage in both events, but in our part of the
country we are less disadvantaged in the summer.

I'll be putting teams together again so please let me know of your
interest and whether you will be full-time or part-time. I will
register the teams at noon, Saturday August 1.

Let's see how well we can do!
