The KL7RA station is "not going dark."  You may remember, KL7RA died
in a motorcycle accident during a visit to Hawaii.  Back up in Alaska,
KL7SB has signed a three-year lease with option to buy the KL7RA
property in Nikiski.  KL0R/AL7IF will be the "station manager."  'SB
says "We have a lot to learn.  We may have the antennas and equipment,
but we don't have the mad genius [said respectfully as a compliment]
who put it all together and who would climb towers in zero Fahrenheit
temperatures in the middle of a contest to fix something.  I hope we
are worthy of the legacy."
And a correction from Bernie this morning...
As reported yesterday the KL7RA station is "not going dark."  We were quickly reminded KL7RA, Rich, succumbed to complications from a heart attack that came just before the 2015 CW November Sweepstakes.  It was KL7Y, Dan, who died in the motorcycle accident in Hawaii in 2002.  "They were both dynamic and dedicated contest and DX types" and are "sorely missed", says K8MFO, Don.  Thanks gang for setting us straight!
