Bob,
Yes, 'WTS has been turning in better and better scores now that he has a
high band antenna. He and I are in a virtual tie now. Our of the 7
weeks that he and I both operated in the recent ladder, my score was
higher four times and his score was higher three times, but one of those
times when I beat him it was just by a couple of points.
But you have been kicking both of our b***s. We only beat you one time,
and that was probably because you got on late or something.
It will be fun when 'MR gets back to Ohio with four of us Ohioans
battling it out. I hope Gary AF8A can start joining us on a regular
basis. And maybe others?
I should have mentioned that from Michigan N8EA recently has been
whipping me pretty bad when he gets on. The other Michigander who
participates occasionally is W8UE, who plugs away despite having pretty
poor antennas.
And then there is NO3M who clobbers us all with his 50 wpm + QRQ and
usually comes in first in the country. Eric is in a different class
entirely!
From the NCC NY contingent, Dean NW2K is a frequent participant putting
in great scores, as is N3SD who seems to have only a low band antenna.
I hope I haven't missed anyone.
The rest of you - you're missing the best fast-action event in
contesting. If you want to increase your CW speed, this will do it.
Thursday nights at 9:30 local (10:30 in the winter). Weekly
announcements on CQ-Contest.
