Hal,

I like and use the routers from Ubiquity Networks, such as
https://www.ubnt.com/edgemax/edgerouter-lite/. Their Edge Router Lite has
no WiFi and no built-in unmanaged switch, but is rock solid and very
affordable. Ubiquity products are serious network hardware; they are in a
different class from Netgear, D Link, or other consumer oriented items.

Subject: [NCC] I need a new router

Hello,

My 10-year old router has failed and I need to order a new one. My needs are
modest; I don't stream a bunch of videos and I have managed nicely to date
with a five-port wired setup, not wifi. The most important thing to me is
that it allows smooth operation of my remote setup where I operate my Ohio
station from Japan. I probably can't buy a wired-only router any more but I
do want to buy one that allows me to hard wire everything and turn off the
wifi function. I also want one that I can reboot remotely using an internet
switch, so it has to have a power supply (ie not PoE).

Has anyone recently bought a new router? Any suggestions?

Thanks for the help.

73, Hal W1NN
