123 x 45 in 4 hours, which for me seemed pretty good. At the condo QTH, with the K3 and 65 foot vertical wire with base loading, minimal radial system. It's a different game down here, where the loudest stations on the band were ZF9CW and C6AGU. I'm still distance challenged - only one QSO in W6/7, and three sections each in W0 and W1. I did actually manage to have a run of 10 QSOs or so.
A good number of MRRC/NCC folks worked. I heard W1NN once calling somebody, likely would not have been strong enough for a QSO. Heard a few people working K8ZT, but never heard a peep of Anthony's QRP. I did have one guy come back to K8?, and then work K8ZT. I can pretty well estimate the likelihood of a QSO from how loud a guy is. Best ears award based on being not so loud but working me right away goes to K3UA.
I suspect I'll ignore the ARRL's one-callsign rule and fire up tonight as W3USA. And if you haven't been on yet, do so. Your QSOs will be much appreciated by all, and you could have a pretty good fresh meat run.
73 - Jim K8MR/4
