Comments:
First time operating QRP from a meager station from my Daughter's home
in SE Texas. I was surprised how well things worked with 5W and an end-fed
vertical wire.
Station: IC-703 (5W), 29.5 ft vert wire on MFJ 32 ft pole attached to wooden
fence, gnd stake at ant, no radials, 9:1 balun. Manual keying & logging.
Loudest stations I heard on 40/20/15 were always K3LR & W2FU. I only heard
K8AZ once quite loud on 20 (must have been S&P).
I noticed the lower latitude must make a big difference on propagation since EU
stations were literally booming in right after sunset each day. Trans-EQ was always
good on 20 & 15 during daylight.
