[NCC] ARRL SSB Contest

Greetings to the NCC Warriors!

I hope all of you are surviving the local (crazy) weather...... and getting
ready for another fun ARRL SSB contest weekend.

K8AZ will be Multi-Two, with many NCC ers pounding the footswitches:  K3LA,
AA8OY, K8AAV, K8NZ, N8AA, N8TR, W8WTS, and -- of course, our multi-decade
mult hound and omelet chef Reno, now known as "Octo-Op."  (Reno celebrated
his 80th birthday last month.)

I'm telling my ops all to be diligent about spotting every station they
hear that hasn't been spotted.  I truly believe that if many of us do that,
we will increase activity, because casual-type ops will turn on their
computers, see lots of un-worked guys and realize that there are lots of
guys to work.  (We can all lament the negative effect of packet later --
but that is reality.)

And all of that is made worse by the fact that skimmer has spoiled us for
CW ..... and people don't even remember how to spot.  (In case you don't
remember, in CT and Win-Test and other popular programs, you type the call
into the log, hit Alt-F3 and the spot is sent.)  So, please, help us out
and spot guys who are new on the band.

Finally, I am sorry to inform that long-time NCC member Tim, KQ8M, lost his
mother on Sunday, February 12.  Our sympathies go out to Tim and his family.

Hope to see many of you on the bands this weekend.
