IMPORTANT From my long phone call last night with NP2X, Fred has asked me
to assemble a list of possible volunteers to assist NP2X (ARRL Section
Manager) with communications in the US Virgin Islands. Volunteers MUST be in
good physical health, able to pay for your travel, be away from home and
work for an undetermined period of time and be able to work in hot humid
temperatures for long periods. Volunteers MUST have completed Core ICS
classes 100, 200, 700 and 800 there is no exception.
I am assembling a list ONLY at this time - no other details are known yet.
The volunteer list is no guarantee that you will ultimately be deployed.
Please contact K3LR if you can volunteer and I will notify NP2X directly.

START OF RELAY EMAIL FROM FRED NP2X this morning:
All good on St. Croix. Minimal damage on island. Towers and house at NP2X
OK. One ham on St. John peered from his bunker at the height of the storm
and described it as a 'salad shooter'.
St. Croix ARC currently passing safety of life traffic from St. Thomas and
St. John and supporting Territorial and Federal partners. We have a MASSIVE
Federal response here. Say a prayer for people in STT and STX.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE do not send NP2X any incoming health and welfare
traffic. Direct all H&W traffic to
http://www.redcross.org/safeandsound
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE do NOT respond to NP2X.
Very 73,
Fred, K9VV / NP2X
