Sad News! I met Bob in the 80's when I was sent on a technical
visit to the Test Center he was in charge of in Richmond, VA.
We were both Engineers for our respective Telephone Companies,
C&P of VA and Ohio Bell. I required info of setting up the same
center and needed his expertise. When we were finished, he gave
me his business card and I saw his Ham Call on it - W4MYA. We
laughed when I told him my Call and we went out and had a nice
dinner. We were friends ever since. Whenever we'd run across each
other in Contests, he would never fail to take the time to say,
"Hi Bob, Good Luck!" and vice versa. I still have that card.
RIP, Friend. Bob K8BL

Anyone who had been on the air in a domestic contest in the last ~50 years has had a QSO with W4MYA. I worked Bob in the NAQP CW just a couple of weeks ago.

KF4QQY has relayed to me that his neighbor Bob W4MYA, became a silent key last night at 8:31PM.
Bob had been a PVRC member since 1968. Bob was active through the end: I had QSO'd him 10 times in July and August. Bob was running em on the air as recently NAQP CW two weeks ago when I remember with joy the brief chat I had with him on the air.
Bob: RUN EM FOREVER DUDE!!!!
