Thought about doing another 1 op B-type Field operation, but with some recent health issues, the XYL convinced me to operate from home this year. To get my "antenna work" appetite quenched I rebuilt a broken KLM 15 meter beam that fell 80 feet off a tower and broke when it hit the ground about 16 years ago. Never got it up in the air before Field Day as I had hoped, but it is just about ready to raise and I have a ring rotor ready in place for it to go on (been dabbling with that project for about 8 years, and actually converted an old T2X control box to work with it).
Went the 5 watt route again with SO2R. I had a whole row of 9 car batteries charged and ready to go, but only needed 2 and those two still had plenty of juice left in them. Was disappointed that didn't do better on 40 and 80. Also never went to phone which is tough with QRP, but typically can make a little run on 75 meters in the morning. But I slept longer than planned and missed that opportunity. Sometimes also near the end SSB can work, but then 10 meters opened during the last hour so decided to play with 10 CW.
I guess it was fun and the good thing is I won't be totally wasted tomorrow as with other years.

Comments:
Signals were good, but couldn't get good runs with the QRP, especially on 40 and
80.
East coast stations very loud on 20 meters Sunday. Also wound up sleeping more
than planned.
