Hey NCCers,
I don't know if anyone was using it, but I wish I would have borrowed NC8C. As K8RR, with an okay 30 ft. high dipole on 20 meters and wire verticals operating over 60 radials (all 25 ft). in my city lot back yard, really good runs weren't sustainable. An odd prefix might have changed everything. But, I'm not complaining because I kicked butt in the S & P pile-ups. Snagged some good countries and lots of odd prefixes. Couldn't break the wall to get A61, but was happy to work plenty of countries from Europe and elsewhere on 20, 40 and even did well on 80 meters! A slow start was due to a broken rope and the end of 40 meter wire arcing to the tree! No wonder no one could hear me. I am looking forward to putting up better working antennas for all bands, developing a properly timed band plan of attack and really going for it in May's WPX CW. I wish it was sooner!
